The Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 will came into force in March 2019. This act increases a landlord’s obligation to ensure that properties are fit for human habitation at the start of any lease and throughout the duration of the lease.
There are several factors to consider if a house is fit for human habitation. These range from issues include such aspects as dampness present in the property, supply of clean water, drainage and sanitary conveniences, physical hazards around the property, and many more.
Hayes Medicals were approached by numerous legal firms asking if we could produce housing disrepair reports for them. We researched this area of law, approached several surveyors across the UK, and we are now able to offer housing disrepair reports.
The feedback we have received from solicitors that we have produced reports for, is that they really appreciate our speed of service, with reports being produced within 2-3 weeks, assuming there are no access issues.
